Charles Darwin speaking of the pleasure of deep study once wrote, “Attention, if sudden and close, graduates into surprise; and this into astonishment; and this into stupefied amazement”. When I first heard that quote everything inside wanted to say to him, “Yes, Mr. Darwin… and stupefied amazement into worship!”. It is true, everything in creation if you peer long enough and study deep enough will ultimately serve as a catalyst for worship. Henry Miller has said, “even a blade of grass if given proper attention becomes a magnificent thing in itself”, I would add to that, “even a blade of grass can motivate your heart to worship the Creator”. We live in an age where peering long, studying hard, and developing mastery doesn’t pay. Typically, the talented novice can achieve more worldly accolades than the master. However, it is in mastery that we see the complexities of life. We enjoy the intricacies of simple experiences. If you desire to worship – go deep, think hard, study more.
