Proverb 2:3 Call out for wisdom

Proverb 2:3 Call out for wisdom

Proverbs 2:3 Yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding

To gain wisdom is to gain God’s perspective. He looks at situations and circumstances differently than we do. The Prophet Isaiah says it best: 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8–9 (ESV)

He sees the end from the beginning and all possible outcomes of any particular course of action. Therefore wisdom is something that we must, “call out” to God for. We must ask Him to share His perspective with us.

The Apostle James tells us, 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. James 1:5

Solomon’s first official act as King was to call out to God to give him wisdom that he may govern well – 1 Kings 3:9. As a very young man he found the responsibilities of the Monarchy staggering. If you knew all of the potential any given day holds, or the dangers it poses you too would be staggered as you face any new day. But if you, like Solomon, call out to God for wisdom you will find that He is more than willing to give it to you. Our good and gracious God who did not hold back His only begotten Son, will also with Him freely give us all things needed for life and godliness.
