Truth matters. The tone of truth also matters. We spend the first half of our journey as believers learning truth, the second half learning how to speak it well.
Our world will imposed motives, alters definitions, distorts the intent of anyone they consider an adversary. It is a remarkably difficult time to be in the business of speaking truth.
I am reading a biography about R.C. Sproul, a man committed to truth. His wife mentioned that after a sermon his most frequent question to her was, “was I nice enough?”
Truth comes easy to the committed believer, tone not so much. The tone of the truth we speak will either cause the seed to penetrate the soil of the heart, or to bounce off of it. Consider your tone.
