Reconciliation | Genesis 33:1–20

What do you do when relationships are broken beyond repair—or so it seems?

In Genesis 33, Jacob finally comes face-to-face with Esau after 20 years of fear, guilt, and unresolved conflict. What unfolds is a powerful picture of biblical reconciliation—one that begins with God and flows outward to others.

In this sermon, we learn that:

Reconciliation with people begins with reconciliation with God

Revival often follows repentance and restored relationships

Peace doesn’t always mean proximity—but it does require obedience

From Jacob’s humility to his willingness to make restitution, Scripture gives us a clear pathway toward restoring harmony where it’s been lost.

Key Truths from the Text:

Reconciliation requires initiative

Reconciliation requires humility

Reconciliation requires restitution

Reconciliation requires boundaries

Ultimately, we are reminded that Christ reconciled us to God at the highest cost—so how can we refuse reconciliation with one another?
